I never expect any candidate to agree with me on every issue but I sure as hell do not expect to be thrown under the bus by them before they even get elected. Mike Skelly seems to want to speak for all of Texas and tell MoveOn.org to get out of Texas. As a supporter of MoveOn and a Liberal Texan, I am sick of Republican Lite Democrats. Maybe if we elected a few more with spines we could take not only Texas but America back.
Since the Republicans took over Texas, many Democratic candidates have decided to run as Republican Lite and we all know how well that has worked. Do you see Democrats in the majority in any area in Texas? Travis and Dallas County have turned blue but that was with Real Democrats running. Maybe if more of the so called Democratic candidates ran as Democrats, they might win.
A Democratic congressional candidate in Texas is telling MoveOn.org thanks but no thanks after the group bought radio ads to aid his candidacy.
Businessman Michael Skelly (D) is a well-funded long shot against Rep. John Culberson (R-Texas) in the incumbent’s Houston-area district. The district voted 64 percent for President Bush in 2004, and the ads could do more harm than good by linking the challenger to the liberal group.
MoveOn bought ads in Culberson’s and five other districts. The spots focus on opposition to offshore drilling for oil.
Skelly, who has called for lifting the ban on offshore drilling, says in the release that it is “time for MoveOn to move out of Texas.”
